I have a 15 Pro Max and just experienced the “overheating” for the first time. Want to know why? A news website asked me to disable my adblock to continue reading an article. I did so, and when the page reloaded my phone started to get hot. There was an auto playing video and a sticky banner bar at the bottom of the viewport, and animated ads every couple of paragraphs. Overheating stopped after I closed the tab. Hardware defect, or lesson about importance of content blockers?

A disaster is it? So the story is a single tweet that has maybe 3 cases..

I got my phone on Tuesday and already see the status bar at the top burnt in. It’s extremely faint, but it’s there.

I don’t care about this article or “Android techie” in particular, however I’m glad this issue was brought to my attention.

Did you get AppleCare+ on it? That could guarantee you a new screen every year until the problem is resolved.

I’m in the EU. Hardware defects are covered by law for 2 years.
